Getting rid of it! I think it's time. Don't you?

I wasn't always fat, and I'm not going to always be either.

I used to think that!

Posted at 12:53 PM on August 03, 2009

I used to think-

1. I'm happy fat.

2. I'm supposed to be fat, because it's in my genes.

3. I'm not THAT fat.

4. I don't eat that much.

5. I would always be fat.

6. It's too hard to lose weight.

7. It would take too long to lose weight so why bother.

8. I didn't have it in me to lose weight.

9. I would never be fit.

10. Folks that were fit and healthy were born that way and didn't have to work at it.

Now I KNOW-

1. I was in denial. I mean really does it make you happy to be fat? REALLY?

2. It's NOT in my genes..it was WHAT was on my fork.

3. I was HUGE and wasn't REALLY looking in the mirror.

4. I was eating huge amounts and all the wrong things.

5. I won't always be fat!

6. Yes, it's hard to lose weight, but it's doable!

7. Time is going to go by anyway so I may as well be getting healthier each day.

8. I can do ALL things thru Christ who strengthens me.

9. With God's help I'll always be fit.

10. Baloney...they might be skinny, but they aren't healthy..those that are.... work at it, because it's SOOO worth it!!

Carla,

These are so true for me as well except for #1 because I felt horrible first thing in the morning when I would wake up and....yup....still be fat!

At this point after asking the Lord for his help I was given the strength to dedicate myself to a new healthy me. Using WW I am down 49 pounds with about 75 left to go. There is NO question in my mind that I will reach my goal because my strength comes from Father God!

I have found inspiration in your blog for quite some time. I appreciate your willingness to support others like me who are on this journey. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to post pics too. I'm just starting to see a difference. Took four bags of clothes to the Goodwill today! You truly are a blessing to others!

Cathy- thanks for writing, and you can do this too!!!

Sherry- I know what you mean!!! It took me a long time to realize that I needed to be right up there at the top of the list. It's NOT all about me, but I need to take care of myself if I'm going to be able to take care of others. I struggle at times too!

It's all about you...all about you, Jesus!

What a great message and it was like you could read my mind. Your "used to's" are my now thinking. I wonder why it is so easy to give of myself to help others but so hard of me to give of myself to help myself? Thank you Carla for all your words of encouragement and support to those of us that are struggeling. Your words are a blessing to me. ~Sherry
